Hello, my name is Matt. I'm glad you were able to find my neck of the woods.

Growing up I was a very fundamentalist Christian. I hated with all of my heart and I was as close-minded as they come. However, through discussion and lots of time, I was able to free myself from the bondages of religious dogma.

For a while, I coasted the plains of atheism and the material - never really landing on any type of spirituality. Only recently, when I picked up Daniel Quinn's Ishmael did I see the need for change in the world.

Whenever I try to change something, I have to change myself first. This is when I started looking into Buddhist philosophy ( as well as Marcus Aurelius' Meditations) , and found myself cherishing the wealth of information and insight that Buddhist teachings offer one in life.

I've become a sort of activist in my school, sponsoring a Philosophy Club, as well as one called United Earth (www.oneunitedearth.com - still a work in progress!).
